Your personal brand is your power outfit. Visual identity for bold women by HIYA VIBES

I want you to think about the outfit you put on when you want to feel unmistakably yourself. Not trend-led. Not ‘appropriate’. Not what you should wear. The one that makes your shoulders drop, your energy sharpen, and your presence land before you’ve said a word. That feeling right there is what personal branding actually is.

Not logos.
Not fonts.
Not perfectly curated grids.

Your brand is the outfit your work wears in the world. And just like getting dressed, when it’s right, you don’t have to overthink it. When it’s wrong, everything feels harder than it needs to be.

Styling and branding have the same job

Wardrobe styling isn’t about disguising who you are. It’s about revealing you more clearly. The same is true for your brand.

A good personal brand:

  • gives you confidence to show up
  • helps other people understand you faster
  • carries your energy into rooms you’re not physically in

When your visuals don’t match who you are anymore, you hesitate. You second-guess. You keep tweaking captions instead of saying what you mean. It’s the equivalent of you changing your outfit 20 times before an important date, and it still not feeling quite right.

Here’s how to refocus your personal brand in the same way as you would spring clean your wardrobe.

1. Stop dressing for who you used to be

Most people are walking around in a brand that fit them three versions ago. The safe palette. The polished-but-muted look. The aesthetic they chose when they were trying to be taken seriously.

But you’ve grown. Your taste has evolved. Your point of view is sharper now. Audit your current visuals the same way you’d audit your wardrobe.

Ask yourself:

  • Does this still feel like me today?
  • Would I choose this if I were starting from scratch?
  • Does this energise me or flatten me?

If the answer is ‘I’ve outgrown this’, trust that.

2. Confidence comes from clarity, not loudness

A power outfit doesn’t shout. It fits. The same goes for branding. Standing out isn’t about being louder, brighter, or trendier than everyone else. It’s about being coherent. When your colours, props, imagery, and tone all come from the same internal place, people trust you faster.

Instead of asking ‘How do I stand out?’ ask:

  • What do I want people to feel when they land on my page?
  • What parts of my personality do I keep editing out?
  • What do people already come to me for, emotionally as well as practically?

This is the work before the visuals. This is where your unique power actually lives.

3. Your vibe already exists, you just haven’t named it

Most of my clients don’t lack taste. They’re drowning in it. Saved posts. Screenshots. Moodboards that feel good but go nowhere. That’s not about indecision, but rather unarticulated instinct.

Pick 10 visuals you’re magnetically drawn to (not aspirational but instinctive).
Write down what they share:

  • colour temperature
  • mood
  • texture
  • pace
  • emotional tone

Those patterns are your vibe trying to speak.

4. You don’t need to show more of yourself, you need to show yourself better

A lot of people think personal branding means being more visible. More face. More talking. More content. But power comes from intentional presence, not exposure.

Still life branding works because objects can carry identity. Colour can carry emotion. Composition can carry confidence.

Ask:

  • What objects represent how I think, work, and create?
  • What colours feel like home to me?
  • What details would someone recognise as ‘so me’ even without my face?

This is where a personal brand stops feeling performative and starts feeling lived-in.

5. When your brand fits, everything gets easier

When your visuals match your inner world:

  • you stop procrastinating posting
  • your offers feel clearer and your online ecosystem more coherent
  • your work attracts people who get it
  • you feel less like you’re pretending

Just like a power outfit, your brand should support you, not exhaust you. If showing up online feels heavy, don’t push harder. Redress the foundation.

This is what HIYA VIBES is really about
