In Their Shoes: SOPHIA
Sophia, 50, is a walking contradiction in the best way: nostalgic but future-focused, soft-hearted but steel-willed. She lives in a house filled with neon accents, paper ephemera, and cat hair. Her two cats are named Sonny and Tubbs. She still watches Miami Vice on DVD and unapologetically matches her eye makeup to her oversized earrings. A beacon of self-expression for women her age, Sophia shares outfit photos online and hosts vision board-making nights in her kitchen. She believes in dressing for joy, dating on her own terms, and glue-sticking her feelings into her scrapbook.
About this series:
In Their Shoes is a fictional photographic portrait series depicting imagined personas through their shoes and the items they treasure. Each one vivid, layered, and alive in their own small universe. These characters are little vignettes that came to me in a flurry of inspiration, brought to life through writing, styling, colour, and the kinds of details you’d only notice if you stepped into their world for a moment. They’re love letters to texture, memory, and the quiet power of personal story.
